An interesting experiment. Amidst all the known security of carabiners, harnesses, spinners bearing 26kN stamps, and all the multitude of theatre bits and pieces, just how much can a single length of 6mm jute from Osada Steve have hang on it before it goes ping? In the absence of a 2 meter drop test, hanging lumps of metal on one end of a 1 meter-ish length proved to be much excitement. Two 35-ish kg slabs and three 12-ish kg plates made the rope go strrrreeetch … eeek! … tik! … tik! … ping!
