some sunday evening shibari attempts

No, I haven’t been writing here much lately (again). I took a week off and went to Brussels, staying with Gala (hallo), seeing Hans and Anuschka (with a beautiful solo from her at Pianofabrik the afternoon I arrived), climbing with Gabe (first time in ages and being very gentle with my body as it decides if it wants to let me move or not), dinner with Paea, breakfast at Bar du Matin (lunch also) (one evening where digestif followed immediately from apertif), lazing around, wandering the city, one new book (aforementioned Miéville’s Un Lun Dun), James, and others, (missing Ivo), stealing a couple of DVDs of Romeo Castellucci…

Back in Berlin…

Dasniya and I have spent the last couple of Tuesdays post-Shibari technique classes hanging me up. Getting used to being suspended for a long time – or at all – for me requires some time to get my skin toughened and likewise all the way through my viscera. Last night it seemed, my skin and its accompanying deeper layers have partly made it there – a side-suspension which went on for a moderate time was quite comfortable and without much of the usual rope-bite marks.

We are working on something. With us is Jorgos, whom I first met last year when I assisted Dy in a Shibari workshop. Later we shall find ourselves with Gala also. Nothing much more to say yet, as the unreconstructed animist-pagan with awe for sympathetic magic in me doesn’t want to say any more for fear of jinxing the whole thing.

Some photos then… (I’m rather taken about the idea of very low-light photography, but not sure my camera is sensitive enough for that.)
