干花乐队 dead flowers at park19

Having blown my remaining change of DVDs again, including weird old documentaries on the history of Hong Kong filmmaking, I ended up down at Park 19 again last night. In rehearsal last night there, in one of the smallest rooms lined with old mattresses and polystyrene were 干花乐队 Dead Flowers. Wearing their influences loudly and punk as fuck, they cranked through a 40 minute set almost without pause. And they have a CD and DVD. There was another band rehearsing too, the drummer of Dead Flowers swapping to bass, and the new drummer a girl who pounded the kit like Slayer. I thought, put these guys in Taipei down at 這牆 The Wall, with The Deported and it’s gonna be a messy night.
